True Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome with Elongated C7 Transverse Processes in a Hemiplegic Patient: A Case Report

چکیده
Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is caused by the compression of neurovascular structures in thoracic cage. TOS can be classified into neurogenic (NTOS) and vascular TOS. Congenital anomalies, such as cervical ribs elongated C7 transverse processes, may cause NTOS. NTOS subcategorized either disputed or true True NTOS, a very rare disease with prevalence about one million, diagnosed weakness atrophy T1-innervated intrinsic muscles hand corresponding electrodiagnostic abnormalities. We report case 42-year-old patient, who presented 5-year history clumsiness 1 1-year her right hand. The patient was during comprehensive rehabilitation, which she received for left hemiplegia due to intracranial hemorrhage. Elongated bilateral processes were found on radiological evaluation. often overlooked mistaken carpal tunnel syndrome, thus delaying diagnosis inevitably worsening outcomes. Therefore, an study crucial detecting rather than typical physical examinations Roos stress test Adson’s test.

True neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is an uncommon disease and is difficult to diagnose at the early stage and then completely cure. We experienced a case of true neurogenic TOS with typical clinical symptoms and electrophysiologic findings as a result of repetitive habitual sleep posture. A 31-year-old woman who had complained of progressive tingling sensation on the 4th and 5th fin...

A 32-year-old woman presented with a 5-year history of left shoulder pain, medial hand and forearm numbness, and progressive hand weakness and atrophy. Electrodiagnostic studies were characteristic of true neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome, and a chest x-ray showed bilateral elongated C7 transverse processes. High-resolution ultrasound studies revealed compression of the left lower trunk (LT)...

A 65-year-old woman experienced progressive intrinsic muscle wasting on the right hand over a period of 7 years. The distribution of muscular atrophy and weakness was consistent with the area innervated by the right C8 and Th1 nerve roots. Neurophysiological examination suggested a right lower trunk lesion. An elongated right transverse process of the C7 vertebra and an aberrant subclavian arte...
